HP StorageWorks XP Data Shredder is an XP software application now supported on the XP12000 disk array. It was developed initially for HP StorageWorks XP1024 and XP128 disk arrays. It securely erases selected data volumes with up to eight overwrite passes to minimise the chance of anyone ever recreating the data. It is a valuable software application for critical data stored in enterprise environments where secure erasure is an absolute requirement. It can reduce costs, help achieve compliance with corporate policies, and help to ensure data privacy and security. XP Data Shredder is an easy to use application that uses the HP StorageWorks Command View XP graphical user interface, provides a variety of overwrite patterns either user selectable or random, show progress bars, and has a confirmation panel which at completion of the operation displays the status of each of the overwrites specified.
