Due to the increasing demand for LCD televisions with advanced motion compensation technology, Toshiba is offering the 37ZV635D, an additional screen size in its ZV series. This way the “ActiveVision M200HD” high end technology for reduced motion blur has found its way into the 37-inch (94 cm) range as well. To ensure outstanding picture quality, “Resolution+” optimises SD content for the full HD panel, while the “AutoView” function sets the right image parameters automatically - the user need not do a thing. Even the sound is controlled automatically rather than by constantly fiddling with the remote control. “Dolby Volume” equalises volume variations from different sources and maintains consistent sound levels. In addition to an SD card slot and a USB socket, the 37-inch television can also come with four HDMI connections. The 37ZV635D will be available from September on in Europe.

With the 37-inch model in the ZV series, Toshiba is now offering its customers the innovative “ActiveVision M200HD” function in screen diagonals under one metre. With this technology, a further 50 images are generated from 50 original images. The total 100 individual images are then displayed two at a time, using backlight scanning, which doubles the image refresh rate and harmonises the motion sequence to produce a clearer picture.

When the TV is first switched on, “AutoView” selects the optimal image settings. With this function, a sensor is used to analyse the brightness in the room, lighting properties and the actual picture content. If adjustments are necessary, “AutoView" automatically makes them. The function continually monitors these conditions so that the image quality remains consistently optimal. This function ensures that you can get the most out of your TV 24/7, without even having to touch the remote control. Additionally, “Resolution+” technology produces near HD-quality images from SD sources. The dynamic contrast of 50,000:1 ensures a finely graded image which provides a picture rich in detail for pure film enjoyment. In terms of sound, Toshiba uses Audyssey EQ™ measuring and corrective technology to correct the muffled sound typical of LCD TVs. As a result the 37ZV635D is a winner with its well-balanced and natural sound. “Dolby Volume” detects and eliminates constant volume variations during advert breaks, when changing the channel or when switching to external devices. Toshiba’s “InstaPort™” ensures ease of use by cutting the length of time necessary for switching to an HDMI channel from the usual four seconds to around 1.5 seconds.
